    #1 is a featherfin Catfish
#2 Common Plecoatomus but he looks fairly odd with the 2 row of scales on the ribs section
Can you provide more pictures to allow a better ID

    I agree with BBQ

    #1 is a Featherfin Catfish
#2 is definitely a Common Pleco or “Hypostomus plecostomus” Mine also had the 2 rows of spines down the side of the body.

The first is defiantly a Synodontis but I don't think its a featherfin Synodontis,I don't see spots on the body or long filaments on the dorsal fin.

Yup, the first is a species of Synodontis, but as said above not likely the featherfin. You guys would be surprised as to how many Synodontis hybrids pop up in the hobby. It might have some featherfin in it, but it's hard to say.

Sorry for the odd question how many Tiger barbs do you have in your tank, as you can see I am the BIGGEST Tiger Barb fanatic:laugh:

I had that type of Syno. Still no clue which one it was, but it's not the featherfin squeaker. I sold mine to a petshop that had a featherin squeaker in stock and there were definite differences between the 2 types.

Don't they change (of pattern and colour) with age ??? Still think it's an S.Eupterus.

Juvenile S. eupterus have a wavy or map-like pattern and are light-ish, and usually lack any noticeable fin structure. Adults are spotty and dark, a little like the fish in question, but have the 'feather fin' that is their namesake.

The dark spottiness is what inclines me to say that S. eupterus is involved here. But I may be wrong. It may be another valid species that I am unaware of, or a hybrid with another spotted Synodontis (of which there are many).
