    Hi,

I'm looking for a nice petshop, something where i'll find everything fish related.

    does anyone know of one?

Saw a tread about Uncle sam in Tokai, does anyone have a contact number?

    Thanx

We are not allowed to give details of other pet stores publically on the forum.

Normally the guys will pm you letting you know who to stay away from for live stock (due to live stock being sick) and who on the other hand has excellent stock, as well as prices on hardware.

:) it comes down to experience and personal preference as well and if a shop owner was to see his name being flamed on here it wouldn't turn out good for anyone.

Donovan, the rules and regulation thread is pretty clear, so I would suggest maybe just glancing through it.

Basically we can advise people on what to buy, (be it lifestock, hardware, plants or tanks), but because a lot of our sponsors on TASA can actually supply a lot of the stuff, we are not allowed to give the prices or contact numbers of where to get the stuff. It sounds a bit stupid considering we are all into the same hobby, and will obviously all want the best bargains... but the fact of the matter is that the sponsors sponsor the forum, so that we don't have to pay a joining or monthly fee to belong here, and I think to be fair, they should be given the first option to quote, and as such, would prefer us to rather PM each other on special deals and contact numbers.

If you are looking for anything specifically, I would suggest you first contact our sponsors online, as they are often able to sell it to us at a much better price than the Pet Stores do. Remember our sponsors often don't have overhead costs to cover, and are able to assist with better pricing structures.

Put it this way, if I were to go and buy the pich encyclopedia that I got 2 weeks ago, I would have paid in the region of R250+ for it... maybe even as high as R400+. Dolphin, our sponsor, managed to get a very good deal on it, and I paid a LOOOOT less! (Can't recall the exact amount as I bought food from him as well!)

    I have read it!

I was just curious as i am a member on other forums with other hobbies and if someone knows where to get a good deal from it doesn't need to be kept secret or under cover.

I am new here and thats why i asked why it was not allowed!

How do we contact the sponsors to get info on equipment? is there a thread called "Sponsors"?

    Sponsers Requests

The only reason we are trying to keep info off the forum is for people to join and STAY active. If the info is free to be read then the forum will die...

You have more than 10 posts now so you can PM other members.

    Put it this way:

Donovan sells tea cups. He belongs to a tea cup forum. He sponsors the te cup forum so that the members don't have to pay a joining fee, and can enjoy the forum free of charge. He does this because he knows that as a sponsor, he now has a potential buyer in every memeber of the forum.

Henk comes on, (sorry Henk), and being the forum $hit stirrer... brags to everyone that Deleware Tea Cups at 55 Ambulance Road, number 082 123 4567 is selling at a GREAT price! Needless to say, Donovan could probably beat the price from Deleware Tea Cups... but is never given the opportunity. So now Henk has gone and advertised for someone else, not realising that Donovan actually pays for him to belong the the forum free of charge.

HEy Donovan, Click on "Forums" at the top of this page. At the bottom of that page you'll see a section for the "Sponsors"

Trust me, you'd be better of buying from them any way. Most of the LFS (most not all) don't know what they're doing and can't give you good advice. Also, alot of the time their livestock is unhealthy and they don't have plants.
