    Hi folks,

As the title suggests, I'm looking for an external cannister filter. Preferably looking for Eheim or Fluval, and needs to be suited to at least a 200L tank.

PM me if you have anything? Must be in excellent condition, and fully working with all its 'accessories' complete.

    Regards
    G!

    Hi Big G,

I have a fluval 205 which i am currently running my 244L tank on. I purchased it in Feb this year from natures petland for R1659. I might be getting a 405 today from someone i know therefore i wont have a reason to keep my 205 any longer. I live in Durban. If you are interested let me know. I dont know how much shipping would cost as my pump is still running on my tank so i dont know the weight of it right now.

Hey Big G, I'm in the same boat as you. Have done some research and see that Eheim motors are I understand the most efficeint power/Eskom bill wise, so that's my current choice and backed up by their great track record. If at all possible I would always go for a new one, as you have no way of telling the real condition of the motor and how it has been treated, unless you are lucky enough to pick up an unwanted gift or an almost new one. Rule of thumb from the net, never pay more than half the cost of a new one..

Congrats, I see you are on the Cape Town get-together organising committee, lol

Nope, I wouldn't trust a chinese brand in this respect, and have become somewhat of an Eheim fan. My two Eheims I already have, treated me well over the past years. I had to replace their 'O' rings recently, but only because they had not been used for the past year, and the rubber had perished as a result.

I am even being put off Fluval's at the moment, as I've read a lot of reports of them having issues. So it looks like I'll be sticking to Eheim if I can afford to?

To all those who have PM'd me, I will consider my options, but would prefer to go the Eheim route.

    Regards
    G!
