    Hi @Hardus and welcome to TASA!

    I don’t have experience with the fish you keep, hope others chime in. Personally I don’t think common plecos should be in the hobby at all, but I’m sorry for your loss. You were probably very attached to it, especially after 5 years. Truly sorry, and don’t know what happened :(

    @Reedfish ?

    Welcome to the forum.

    Sometimes when one loses a fish it can be hard to pinpoint the exact reason.
    But can you give us a little more info.
    Had you done a water change recently?
    Cleaned the sump/filter?
    Added new fish or decor?
    Change of diet?

    @A new day
    Generally I do agree that common plecs should not be sold to people who can’t house them correctly.
    However 1,000 litres is a decent sized tank for larger fish

    Did you check if your pleco didn't choke on anything? Similar to how I lost my first bristlenose pleco. After he died I dissected him to find my baby bumblebee catfish in his stomach.

    Been up till now all the other guys are all happy as ever to answer all the questions I did a top up the 2weeks back as I normally do with pre treated water that I normally do and cleaned filters I have one cascade pen plax 1500 and a sump, same fish that's been in there same diet ect nothting was touched he was perfect all this time he ate and everything. I did not notice any abnormalities but perhaps you are correct with the choking and I agree with you guys that he is was a bit large for the tank I wanted to upgrade to a larger tank for my buddy I know this might sound odd but can a fish get like a heart attack of some sort? but thank you guys I do appreciate the replys
