    Hi All!!

I'm hoping someone can help me out!

Want to build up a fish friend community in PE, as there are not that many fish suppliers in PE that I am aware of :blink1:

    Please let me know,

    Thanks in advance:bigsmile:

    Hi

I'm from PE. I keep clown loaches in a planted tank. Also some other asian fish in that tank like gouramis and danios.

Hey there. Also from PE. Best place to go for fish is Ultimate Aquatics, blue building on the corner of 8th and Heug road. They're a bit more pricey but they have healthy fish. Their food prices aren't bad either. Plants, filter floss, activated carbon etc i get from Finz, they're in buffelsfontein, on the right if u head out towards seaview. I forget what number they are, if you're out of pe, you've gone too far :) There's another little shop in circular drive across road from virgin active u can look at.

Good Plan, Ultimate Aquatics is about the best we have here in PE, his tanks are healthy but not always the best price wise. (I'd rather pay a bit more and know i'm not wiping out my entire tank)

Any planted tank keepers? Since basically NOBODY here sells any decent selection of plants, I've come to the conclusion there is no market in PE. Perhaps I'm wrong...

I would like to form a local informal "plant-club". We can perhaps trade cuttings, those of us with contacts in the rest of the country can trade and so introduce new plants to the local trade.

Hey guys!! Thanks for the replies and yes ultimate aquatics is far the best in PE, this i can confirm as well, wasn't sure if there was other places besides the three mentioned by Linchpin!

Laure I'll give you a shout when I'm in PE again, maybe this weekend. Drop me a line at jimseaman@webmail.co.za so I can get ur details, same goes for Linchpin & Jaguarcichlid!!

Good plan on the PE Club, everyone seems to be a very closed book as far as sharing of information goes.

    ...make that tomorrow :)

If you guys are in need of some plants, I'm sure us Capetonians can help you out. I'm busy growing some other plants at the moment and once I have enough to part with of the newer stuff, I'll send another package

    Cheers
    Dale

One thing: stargrass! It seems prof Dirk is the only one that grows it and enough of it to be able to sell or trade. Have any of you seen it in any LFS?

I also have some. Mine seem to be doing OK. Not excellent, but OK. I know I need more light and will be upgrading soon. What do you think are the light requirements for it?

I think it it needs 3w per gallon. i have upgraded my lighting and i now have 0,6 w per liter. i think that will be enough for star grass now. have you heard from pet botique yet????

Just spoke to them. They should be getting their stock in at around 1pm today. But then he said: "if not today, then it will be tomorrow". I'm so tired of hearing that line!

    Be nice Dale,
Play nicely with the other kids.....

Thanks by the way, the package arrived and the tank is looking much better. I am looking at a Metal Halide fitting and an improved cover to accomodate it, but will keep in touch... maybe what we should do is send it to one person and we all collect from there.... i can return the favour by sending you some....... mmmmmm..... ok, does gratitude count????? we have nothing near decent when it comes to plant life or fish....

    Cheers

    Dale

Thanks Reefer, if you could post a few pic's, I'll collect, maybe swap when mine has grown out a bit more.

If we ask the other Dale, he could possibly give us an ID too if you dont have.

    Cheers
