HELP. My mollies and guppies has callamanus worms again. I've used Sterazin 3 times now without getting rid of it.
Each time the fish looks perfect after the treatment, but after a couple of weeks it seems to return.
I did the 1st 5 treatments as showed on the bottle, waited 2 weeks and treated again. Waited another 2 weeks ands treated again to get rid of all the eggs also.
It now about 5 weeks and the devils are back again.

I've read that people use Levamisole Hydrochloride to treat it, saying that it is the only thing that really works. Unfotunately I cant find it anywhere here in durban or online in any ZA store.
I've even seen that people use panacur (without any given measurements). Both of these being large animal treatments.

I'm planning to put my fish in a 40L tank for treatment and disinfect my large tank.
What is the best way to disinfect my live plants and gravel to be sure they got no eggs that can hatch.

Is there any place here that I can buy Levamisole HCL? or another treatment that will actually work.

    Hi Jimmy.

Would you still have some Virbac Prodose Red left to sell to me maybe? And how you mixed it and treatment instructions.
I need to treat my system ASAP.

The way I was thinking of doing it:
Put all my fish in a 40L tank to treat so that I can easily vacuum up the worms and feces during the treatment period.
Do a full water change on my main 500l tank washing out gravel, plants and filters. And then maybe to a treatment in that thank also for any surving worms and eggs.

So I would probably need a couple of grams?

You really only need a very small amount. It would be kind of pointless shipping it your way. It would cost more than to just buy a packet from a store. Some of the other guys on the forum know of other products that contain HCL but you should be able to get some from your local agricuture suplly store. Otherwise carrier pigeon clubs or a vet will be able to assist you. The vets usually have a booklet with products and their ingredients. Then just ask that they search for HCL. It is also a constituent of Dovaworm (should be available at petshops that sell lots of birds), which should be more readily available, as the pigeon clubs use the product a lot.

I dosed directly into the water column and had no problems. Dosed the water, done 50% water change 2 days later. Dosed water again, 50% water change after 2-3 days and had successfully removed worms.

Look at the website, they sell the dovaworm tablets.

    Does your fish still eat?

Levamisole HCL works if it can get to the gut of the fish

Yes. They still eat and look very active. Even the guppies with the worms sticking out is very active. I'll go try the petshop today for worm treatments that has Levamisole HCL in it.

Get yourself some Dovaworm(used to deworm pigeons) and mix the tabs with food(pellets or flakes) and feed your fish two times a day for nine days or two weeks.
The other thing that work is flubendazole used to treat the water column and works in four days, pm me and i can give you the info
