Cabinet tanks without steel stand - Safe or Not

    Are tanks (300L+) safe on cabinets without steel stands ?

    I would not.....wood eventually warps......1 day happyness:).......1 day house full of water :(

    It is done all over the world (Google a bit). Depends on construction - I have a 400l on a stand built from 50*75 timber that will go nowhere. Keep pressed wood and Superwood away, though.

    My 550L tank is on a wood stand.

    I guess if the wood is properly sealed, there shouldn't be a problem.

    I purchased a 2nd hand tank and cabinet(attached). Just want to be sure that I don't need a steel frame. Tank measures 150*55*75high 12mm

    There is some nice videos on youtube, from a guy called "The King of DIY". He builds most of his stands from would he does show support methods, etc.

    If that stand came with the tank from the manufacturer you should be ok. I have a 340l on a stand like that, no steel

    I have a 5ft tank had a orignal wood stand and cabinet from the manufacturer over the years the water from the sump started damping the wood and one morning all the water out the corner cracked as the wood warped I made a steel stand with square tubing now
