I've got the tank from 2013 when I bought Gekkie my Giant gourami. Ive built the canopy that time. Last week I decided to build the cabinet. The tank cabinet will be painted like the canopy with a vintage look out of the 1800[IMG][IMG]

Gekkie is crazy like a happy lunatic. He get most of the time so exited, he makes almost somersaults of excitement.

The inside of the cabinet will be sealed with a fish save polyurethane sealer.

The outside will be painted with chalk vintage paint to make the tank look like 300 years old. After that the cabinet will be sealed with a waterproot cleat matt sealer.[IMG]
My work in progress. Just the 2 doors and paint, then I am finish.

Almost finish. Just need to wax the seal the cabinet and lid for a vintage look. Then I'm done.[IMG]

Pine is the best option when it comes to wood. Chipboard and superwood just doesn't make any sense when water is involved.
