I wonder if anyone can be of assistance.
Together with a recent purchase of a few Red Cherry Shrimp I obtained a few dark shrimp.
The assistant in the LFS told me they were RCS, and would take on the normal red colouration once they had settled in.

Earlier this evening I noticed that there is a"black" female that is berried, and is carrying a number of white eggs, all with a small black dot in the middle of the eggs.
A couple of the other red females are possibly also starting to show early signs of being berried, as they continuously fan their back legs over their stomachs.

I have attached a pic of a shrimp that is coloured almost the same as the berried female, although the berried female is a bit darker.
    Any ideas?

Managed to get a (bad quality) pic of the berried female.
Is it a Red Cherry Shrimp in its wild colouration?

Have the first RCS hatchlings appearing today.
So far we have managed to count 4. Not sure how many there actually are though.

    Yes, just another color morph
you get red, blue, dark blue, yellow, orange, chocolate, black, white morphs that is the same species as RCS, aka Neocaridina

i personally think they are just a brak ghost shrimp crossed with RCS.......they will eventually cross breed with your RCS and you will have less and less Red and more hybrid dull colours if left for long enough

I have colour specific shrimp in each tank.
Those were culls that were put in a separate tank.
Interestingly, quite a few of the young turned out light blue, and some were green.
I have given them to someone that is going to try and breed the colours out.
