Brilliant idea, I did not think of trying carrots, I have used cucumber and baby marow and they love it. Going to try introduce them to carrots now as well!! I love plecos, I think I have an addiction to them. LOL:eek:

I think Plecos are awesome, just love them!

You should try some spinach as well, they love it, especially after soaking for a day xD

I also read they you should peel off all the green skin of the cucumbers to avoid possible poison getting into their diet.

With cucumbers I always peel them completely and the main reason for this is oneday I noticed after putting cucumber with skin on one side into the pleco tank, the plecos swam over touched the skin and darted off like some thing had spooked them. I straight away realized this was a problem with skin and ever since then always peeled them completely and thoroughly wash them before feed.

With baby marrow I never had this issue.

Hee hee, it took one day of soaking before my plecos touched it, after 4 days the carrot was totally gone, destroyed and consumed by the Goldies

Next time I'll try blanching carrots first, making it a bit softer.

You can also use carrots to catch snails in the tank, works wonders xD

Fed some baby marrows to the Plecos yesterday, peeled the veg, cut ends off and split in half.

Wanted to post a photo but its all gone, my daughter said that the plecos and Goldies where fighting of the last bit this afternoon.

Baby marrows just moved to the number one spot of my pleco veggie list xD
