So, I went on to an international forum and they said they used this thing to hatch brine shrimp. Needs no power, no heater and no air pumps or movement at all.

    This is what I got...

The instructions say to add 3 slightly heaped teaspoons of salt (aquarium not table salt) to 500ml of fresh water. Pour the water into the tray. Then place 1/4 teaspoon of the brine shrimp eggs into the tray spread evenly over the waters surface.... Check.

Put the lid on... You can also see the size of the whole thing. That round blue thing is a standard size of plumbers tape...

    Waiting....

So, after about 24 hours I took the lid off to check...

You can see in the above pic, the small orange patch in the white circular thing in the center of the dish... That is live, freshly hatched brine shrimp! No power, no air and no heat!! There are thousands of them!

This thing is brilliant! I am going to be trying to find out how to get these into the country. I haven't seen them anywhere so far. Feeding brine shrimp is not the easiest thing on earth!! Brilliant!

I do have one! Well it look very similar!
Yes it do work well, but for small quantities of brine shrimp.
With the lid on, the newly hatched Brine shrimp go to the light (hole) in the middle of the lid and can be easily picked up using the small provided seive.
If anyone is interested, Pm me and make me an offer. I will also trow in a small container of brine shrimp eggs!

Think I have the plans to do so if someone wants to try and build one.
Zoom I think that thing just look fancy to justify the price. I might be wrong.
Will cost very little to build so if it does not work, no loss.

Will do, maybe more of a idea then plan but someone with brine shrimp eggs would have to test it and see if it works.

    Hey guys...

Sorry I have been absent recently. I have been crazy busy at work and also trying to set up my marine tank.

This thing does work extremely well and I have been making lots of brine shrimp. They will be one of the food sources for my marine tank.

It did cost a fair amount to bring it in. If I recall correctly, the thing cost me close to R400 to bring in, but I also got some Sanfrancisco Bay Brand Brine shrimp eggs with it. If ordering in large quantities, it will bring the shipping price down for these, but then the import duties will be higher as well.

If at least 10 of you guys want one of these, I'd have to ask you for the cash up front. It took about 2 weeks for the order to come through the last time.

The hatch rate depends on the quality of the eggs, but I recon my hatch rate was close to 80%. Which isn't bad going at all.
