Managed to get some brine shrimp eggs at lunch time at Panorama Pets...
Paid: R24.99 for 10g, not sure if this is a high/low price? They had a bigger container for 80 bucks , but this is the first time i'm working with the stuff so i took the small one :D
Researching some DIY's on the net..doesn't look to difficult..

    Questions:
    Best way to use it?
Can I feed this stuff to adult fish?:push:

last time i grew brine shrimp i bought it in those "practical science" boxes. lol, think the box called them sea-monkeys, they looked nothing like it though, far as i remember you need a container you can circulate, it needs a warm light and the heat too... and salty water

that article with the console bolltes sounds about the same as the practical science thing i did, it worked well enough... all you really need then is a light to help heat the water if its coldish, and apparently an air pump... and the eggs of course

my employer at the nursery feeds his marine adults with brine, has them in little frozen cubes, chucks a cube in that defrosts fast, soon as those little guys get out of the ice, the fish chow them like nothing...

    Hi Kribs,

Brine shrimp eggs can be hatched using the correct salt concentration, lighting and temperature as I am sure will be indicated in these articles. R24.99 is expensive for 10g. You can do your calculations but I sell bseggs if I have them in stock for R380 per 454g container. These small amounts of bseggs often hatch very poorly so it may be better to purchase a larger amount. At the moment I do not have in stock so I can unfortunately not help you out.

Ferryman, the bs that are sold as frozen bs are adult bs and are much larger and cannot be used to feed fry.

Bs have a very high nutritional value regardless of whether they are freshly hatched and fed to fry, or if they are adult and frozen and fed to bigger fish. I can supply frozen bs if you are interested.

    Kind regards,

    Dirk

For adult fish you can use decupsulated artemia, removing of the hard shell makes it possible to use these cysts as feed without preparation and incubation process.I buy it on this site http://artemiadirect.eu/
