Breeding ramshorn snails

    Hi All,
    I know snails normally do not need help breeding, but our Figure 8 puffer needs a lot of them. So I was wondering what would the optimal setup be to get them to breed like rabbits? I have a 15l tank that is laying around and was wondering if I can just pop a couple of snails in there? Obviously the tank isn't cycled but I can use some water and gravel from the current tank they are in (It is my son's 'display' tank, and he doesn't want snails in it...)

    So what is the optimal temp, and filter type for breeding snails?

    I "bred" snails when I had Puffers. Was quite simple

    I had them in a unheated container that was about 5 liters.
    Dropped a lettuce leaf in once a week or so. And did a partial water change one a week too.

    Took out a few snails every few days and dropped them in with the Puffers.

    @Reedfish did you have any filters or air lines in the container?

    No, I didn't.

    Just watch the water. If it starts looking a bit murky, do a water change.
