    Very nice. Well done.

@sick -lid man, best is to see which is laying the eggs, but there are some ways to see beforehand, but only when they are adult.

it is extremely difficult with juveniles.i have been told to look at fins, bump on head, etc etc.all of these just dont work.i had a MALE that i thought was dominant only to find HIM laying eggs.the sure way is to watch them when they are ready to breed.leave about 10-12 angels in a tank .the males breeding tube will look a bit like a sharp pencil tip while the females will look blunt with no actual tip.the females breeding tube is also bigger in size and much thicker.once a pair is formed, you will notice them staying together and eating together.i allow my bonded pairs to lay in a community tank before i remove them just to make sure they are a genuine pair.i also wait to see wrigglers as well.

    hope this helps

hi guys.will do a day to day pic of my breeding angels to help some guys.i am no fundi like the other guys but this is what works for me
40x40x50 tank.heater set at 28.sponge filter.nothing else besides a clay pot in the tank.i feed twice a day with bloodworms and tetra bits.i use tapwater that has been aerated and left standing for a day at least.i dont use anything else to the water.i remove all droppings etc everyday with a handheld syringe.water change at least every 3 days.both were cleaning the pot yesterday and this pm laid eggs IMG00591-20121121-1728.jpgIMG00594-20121122-1445.jpgIMG00597-20121122-1505.jpg

    Hi Timothy,

Be careful with water changes when the fry are small. I once read a thread (I think it was by @Dirk), where he said that sudden water changes can cause gill cover deformities. I am sure it was on this forum, maybe you can look it up. Anyway, what I do now, is to drop the water level to a third just before the fry are free swimming. Then I slowly top it up over the next two weeks. I now have no more missing gill covers.

hi wickets.what i do is quite simple.i syphon off the droppings etc from the bottom of the tank almost everyday.i have a marker on the tank itself and once i go below the mark,i just top up.i dont do a normal 20% or anything bigger.maybe i should have explained that.thanks for the info on water changes.much appreciated.i also know that major water changes do have an effect on the fry.

    have you hatched any?
if not, you should start immediately to ensure raising any successfully.
