I was a bit curious today about whether or not you get blue Oscars and if they can be bred with red Oscars to get an oscar with the same pattern as a red Oscar but instead it would be bright blue instead of bright orange.

I didn't have much luck but i did come across this pic:

Was wondering if this is a dyed one or normal bred one,the blue tint on the head and mouth makes me suspect that he's dyed but i thought it would be better to ask here.

The blue tinting on the mouth makes me more inclined to think he's a "natural". They inject the dye under the scales and don't usually go near the fish's head, so it's unlikely they injected blue dye into his mouth. Also, (I may be wrong here) I think they'd usually use a pale background, such as albino or colourless fish to dye, otherwise the dye may not show up much, so it wouldn't make sense to use a black fish like an oscar.

I wouldn't say so. Trust me, when a fish is dyed, you will know. It's often sickeningly bright. Look up Google images of dyed fish.

This is just a very pretty, naturally coloured Oscar, IMO.
