Boyu equipment

    Hi Guys,

    Whenever I want to purchase equipment, the Boyu stuff always looks packed a lot better than the other stuff... and price seems reasonably good. I always fear when I see chinese writing and think it's the chinese trying to flood the market...

    Is Boyu equipment reputable stuff (in general?) I know Jaguar/Eheim is obviously the Rolls Royce... but Is Boyu then classified as the BMW or is it right at the bottom with Ford?

    From what I've seen online, the Asians seem to be the leaders in all things aquarium related.

    When I look at these massive projects, I almost only ever see Chinese (or other asian) products, with the odd European products thrown into the mix.

    I don't think you can go wrong really.

    Bear in mind that even Rolls Royce can build a lemon sometimes, while Ford also has their line of supercars.

    It's like a lucky packet. Looks attractive from the outside, but what you get is junk on the inside.

    I've had nothing but trouble with their filters, except for the sponge filter, but then those don't have any mechanical parts.

    i had 2 boyu products the one didnt work off the bat and requiered me to moddify a part. the other one worked but only lasted 2 months

    I have a blower supplying air to my entire fish room. Been running for more than 6 months, a filter in a 3ft, been running for a good 3 months and one or 2 other things which I can't quite remember right now, but they all work fine. Never had a problem...

    But I also have a 200w Jager heater that went dead after only 3 months...

    Take it back to where you bought it. Jager has a year warranty (at least, it might be 3 years)

    slagter still worht a try phoning the importeres and tell them - also drop Eheim a mail....

    Maybe it's like cell phones... Everyone tells me what rubbish Samsung is, and how they always break... I've had a Samsung for 2 years and it's still awesome... had a Samsung for 2 years before that and still worked without problems...

    Seems like everyone has their own experiences.

    i think some BOYU equipment is good and others are bad. to use the car metaphor again... ford has some great cars.... but also has the ford KA in its range that is shoking

    I have 35+ Boyu digital temperature units, run a boyu air pump supplying 30+ tanks
    Never had a problem with either one....

    Nuff said
