It depends from which lfs you buy, some charge R30 some R45 and some of them even charge R50 but then it is Ocean Nutrition the best stuff.

agree, I only recently started the frozen food stuff BS and Daphnia (not sure about bloodworms) and I am happy with the feed. No clue how many times it has defrosted before I landed in my freezer nice to see an expiry date on them also.

You can clearly see when bloodworm have been defrosted and frozen again and it has a distinctive smell as well. I have sent bloodworm back in the past to the supplier and told them that the bloodworm have been defrosted somewhere along the line. They just ignored me and continued to sell it to other shops. I had to wait quite a couple of weeks before they started to sell a new batch, but I am not willing to supply sub-standard quality and will rather be without stock than selling something that is harmfull to fish.

i am on a car forum and what we do at times is some of us get together and bring in some stuff via airfreight or container etc...maybe we get someone on the forum to help us TASA members and we import and share amongst ourselves.just an idea.the cost of fish food is really getting pricey.

    just an idea

Get hold of Dirk and request his food pricelist. He brings a variety of top quality food from Germany. I have over 40 discus of varying ages at any given time and its all i feed them. Their growth rate speaks volumes for his stuff.

    Oh yeah, and its CHEAP!!

    Regards

Marc, Dirk was online this am? If you check the member list you will see that his last activity was an hour ago.

I was @pHish_man. I have seen his username pop up every now and then (also on APSA) but no comments on threads etc so I thought he had stopped participating on the forums. I have asked him awhile back about his ferts but never got a response?

My LFS ( in Johannesburg) charges R 45.00 for Ocean Nutrition frozen bloodworms. It really is worth it because they are nice and clean and mostly whole worms. I used to buy Campcon worms but found that there was so much fouling of my water because they have lots of tiny pieces of worms and lots of 'liquid' that is not nice and fouls the water. With the Ocean Nutrition you are paying for a solid 'block' of worms and not lousy liquid.
