Black Silicone

    Hi everyone. Does anybody know where I can find black silicone in Gauteng? Thanks in advance.

    Don't forget it needs to be marine grade silicon. You shouldn't just use the regular stuff....... toxic and it doesn't have the antimicrobial/anti-fungal etc. additives.

    @BadgerBadger same thing i was thinking of now. other option is to use black but to rince tank over a months time to get it safe for fish

    I wouldn't bother. It MIGHT make the silicone less toxic over time, but it will still be missing the important additives. Best to use the right stuff from the word go.

    rather use clear silicone, but if he wants black edging or finish, rather mask off and paint or diy edging with wood or metal strips

    Isn't black silicone stronger? Lot's of people seem to rave about it?

    i would say if you use normal silicone, and reinforce the tank with a frame, it would be stronger...

    i have seen people using a blue silicone, and saying that its stronger, but am not sure what the silicone contains though
