Black ghost knife fish

I'm getting a 250l planted tank with wood and i want to put a BGK in it, and was thinking these some fish.

• 4 angels
• 4 gouramies
• 2 firemouth cichlids
• 3 loaches
• 4 bala sharks

If any of them won't go together please tell me.
Are there any other fish that will go together with the black ghost knife.

Quite a nice tool.

My Balas spend lot of time at the bottom, the same area as a knife.
Dont know if its an issue though,

 

Don't know about the Firemouths and Balas, but the ghost will do fine with the other 3.

 

which loaches do you want to add? Remember cichlids dig... the damange just depends on their size

I've decided to go with the following in my tank:

• 3 Botia macracanthus (clown loach)
• 2 Hypostomus ssp (pleco)
• 5 Pterophyllum scalare (angelfish)
• 5 Colisa lalia (dwarf gouramies)
• 1 Apteronotus albifrons (black ghost knife)

Should I make any Changes/Additions to my tank.
Could I get any advice on what plants would go with this setup.:unsure::unsure:

 

if you have any large leaf plants just remember that the clown loaches will make small holes in the leaves

i soo wana add a ghost knife to one of my tanks...but i dont have place in other tanks and it would eat up small fish in my planted tank...plus..to make things worse..my lfs has one about 15-20cm in size for sale at a reasonable price

 

i was under the impression that ghost knife fish are'nt as preditorial as the clown knife's?

BGK are predatory, but depending on how they are raised they can become pretty tame and eat from your hand.

i got a tame one and have it in a community tank with black tetras, neon tetras, bettas, angels, sword tails, cory and a few other species and ive never had a fish go missing!

Mine is pretty large now and is always a trat to see it coming out (although few and far between)
