Black Friday

Anyone received any offers for Black friday or is this not done in the pet market

 

Aquaempire always has black friday specials, and I think Wazeers as well... Those are the ones I got so far, there might be more.

 

not so sure how i feel about animals being on special, leaves me feeling that there is enough issues with people buying fish on a wim with no research and pet shop selling fish that they really should not be selling.
besides that have seen quite a few of the sponsors offering BF specials mostly on hardware thou.

 

Sad but true most pet shops will tell you people buy pets on a whim thats their bread and butter

True. However, if you have been looking for something specific, this sure help...
And it also comes down to the shop. I know some places that will actually ask and give proper advise before selling a fish.
And for me personally, I always do research before buying... just everyone else would do that too.

 

do not think so, I follow most pet shops on Facebook and that where i saw there black Friday communication

 

I think Black Friday is great to a certain extent but I do hear @top dog's concern about the livestock and there I do tend to agree with him

Many of the fish sold/bought because "oh.... they are so cheap" lets take 10... are going to land up dying..

Yes... we should all do research but we all know that 9 out of 10 times that doesn't happen...
People starting off and inexperienced beginners will look at it as in 'oh my, we can fill our tank up in one go '
Even those that have been doing it for a little while are tempted to take chances and instead of adding 2 or 3 fish to their tanks, get tempted and take 7 or 8 fish because they cheap... and.... crash the system with the sudden bioload
Just looking at the number of posts we get in this regard where, we have to help people says it all
So... its a controversial subject....

 

Must admit I haven't seen any yet either...
