    Sorry if wrong Discussion...

But what would be an easy biotype tank to create? It will be a small tank about 50l so no big fish. This is my second tank that is empty at the moment so just want to put something interesting in it.

The Southern African Swamp biotype looks interesting.

    Any suggestions welcomed.

    Thanks

50L kind of limit the options. Maybe something for labyrinth fish or few tetras. Pygmy puffer tanks are also great. One or two of shell dweller species can make a great biotype.

Yes the size does make it very tricky!

If I did a South American biotype, then could you put 2 South American Dwarf Cichlids in?

Yes, you could definitely add a couple of Apistogramma in a 50L, but then you'd need to look at the smaller, more docile types.

Lake Tanganyikan shell dwellers, here are some options:

    Neolamprologus ocellatus
    Neolamprologus multifasciatus
    Neolamprologus brevis

    This is assuming your tank is around 60cm x 33cm x 33cm.

Ok so a few months later, I have cycled my tank and have decided on a South East Asia Biotype. I bought 5 tiger barbs on the weekend. Will hopefully update soon with a picture...
