Biological media

Hi all
does any one know where i can get a huge amount of lava stone or pumice rock (i am looking of like one bakkie load), or biological media 1 cubic meter ,if anyone can assist it would be appreciated

 

Maybe try landscaping suppliers as the largest bags I have seen is 10kg lava rock bags from aquarium shops.

 

Find an aquaponic place and get leca it's about R8 per liter but larger quantities is cheaper.

 

@Barry Roux thank you very much for the suggestion it have you used it as filter media before?, it looks really great found the supplier and they sell the product to water treatment plants for biological filtration.

 

Yip I used it before and. It's brilliant imo it has alot more surface area. Wash well and let it soak up water before use. Another helpful piece, get some bafs of netti g from westpack basically the material onions and other veggies are packed in. It's about R70 for a 100m.

A friend got it in pta so where but there is a aqua phonics place in bedforview.
