    Bio media? Lol!
Bio balls, ceramic rings, "Poret" type of open cell foam, and filter floss...

Hey... don't put words into my mouth... The advice I gave you is what I PERSONALLY would do with that filter you have. Not that you HAVE to do it.

I would add more ceramics .I normaly run my tanks internal filters 50% -60 % ceramics and mixed bio balls, and the rest thin layer filter floss, bag of carbon and thin layer of filterfloss on top changed every 2 weeks..you have way too much, it just blocks your flow rate and builds up junk.
Oh and the heater in the first chamber- if the pump run empty, you gonna have a fried heater and a nasty shock.

    Stornbringer...

I think the picture is poor, but from the conversation I had with Oscar, I actually think half that sponge you are seeing is bio-rock.

I basically advised him the same as you did, except I told him to take the rock out and replace it with ceramic. I also adviced to have chemical filtration, (charcoal, purigen, zeulite) at the END of the process.

Yup. More filtration. Chemical or bio, less mechanical.
    Spot on Zoom.
