I am breeding my bettas again.
The male is bussy with a beautiful bubble nest[IMG] and I think the female is full of eggs.
I hope they breed and produce lots of fry.

My female is now with the male in the tank.
    They did are busy spawning!!!!!
The female swims to the nest and then she swims away again and then she comes again.

The female did not stay long at the nest.
Then the male began the chase her.[IMG]
I did removed both of them.

    Now I did try again.
Luckely there are now a couple of eggs in the nest.[IMG]
I don`t think they are finished spawning yet:bigsmile:
    I hope for the best.

Some of the fry are free swimming.
The others stay in the nest.
    I really like them.
    And hope they ALL survive.

There are more fry than I thought.
They love to hide in the Java moss.

Any luck yet with babys? I had about 100+ babys hatch this morning, from my halfmoon male cross with a crowntail female, im rather excited, as the male was expensive (R300), and from a so called thailand competition winning breeder. I bought him a week ago @ jungle aquatics in the west rand. I must be honest, he is a stunner!

@ 5 week old, they should be allot bigger then this...what are you feeding them? I have 5 week old fry as well from my choclate half moon, they are getting colourfull and some are almost 2cm long, I managed to pull thru about 38 of them.

Some of my fry (1 month old) swim normally, but others lay at the bottom and only swim upwards with a lot of effort (swimbladder problems I guess). I feed mine microworms and later these wet brineshrimp packets. What cause them to act like that? Can I prevent that?
