bettas and angels

hey guys

so went to the lfs for live food and did the dreaded and unadvised "il just take a peek at the stock" lol. they had pepper cories which i need and beatiful angels and i got to thinking once more how much i would like some of these. however i was told angels and bettas dont go vry well together, does anyone have experience with this? i was told that thered be problems with my gouramis but so far there is still peace in my tank. if the tank is very heavily planted would it be ok to keep angels in my community tank? i really love them:love:

 

I have 6 Angels in my Planted tank with 2 golden Gourami's and 3 Paradise fish and I have had no problems at all with them.

 

i was thinking about a pair, but as vulcan my betta was here first im not about to evict him, the angels will be smaller so he would be able to bully them in the beginning like he did the gouramis, which are now bigger than him. i have given up the idea of a pair of red robin gouramis, 2 gourami species and a betta would probably be tempting fate and war methinks

 

in my opinion if you have enough hiding place then go for it, the angels will grow quickly and they can out swim the betta so he won't be able to do much harm.... my 2cents any way

 

I introduced a Male fighter to my established tank 2 months ago. The 3 angels didn't even bother him.

I think it comes down the the temperament of your fighter.

 

well i was more worried bout the angels nipping the bettas fins as hes a crown tail. i have a dense thicket of watersprite and 3 caves would that be enough hidey holes? how do i post pics directly to a reply? then i can show you the layout of the tank properly
