    I have a 50L tank with a male betta
At the moment, I have 4 kulli loaches, 1 glass fish, 2 skirt tetras and 1 platy with him in the tank, but the glass fish, skirt tetras and platy will be moved in to a big tank because he is showing aggression towards them and I was just wondering what tank mates I can put in there with him.

    Thanks

Bettas are best kept alone. They can be kept with fish larger than themselves, but this would mean the betta will become a meal.

I sugget you keep the betta alone. I suggest you remove the kuhli loaches as well.

Could you perhaps put a betta with a dwarf gourami?

Yes... It should be fine with a dwarf Gourami.

You can keep bettas with other fish. Just do some research first and make sure the "other" fish aren't fin nippers.

    2time,

Why not turn the 50l into a betta tank? Contact Solex69 to get some more Betta's. He's got some ready to go to new homes already

It also differ from Betta to Betta.

I had some that did not care what you put it with. He actually followed them around when he got bored doing nothing.

Then I had some that absolutely hated any other swimming thing.

Betta's like to stay near the top of the tank so if you get some fish that live on the substrate you might find them more compatable. Then again it still remains up to the Betta.

I dont think they can be kept with gourami- anything too colourful or with long fins is not ideal.( So I was told) You need to put fast swimming fish in with them that the betta can't get at :) I had mine in with platy's and black skirt tetra and they seemed fine..but as Vis says some fighters are more agressive than others.

I had my male betta in the tank with two dwarf gouramis and he showed aggression to both of them and not long after that he started fighting with them, so i had to move him to his own tank.

2time, I've read that dwarf gourami's are closely related to betta's - and they are just as aggressive and territorial. (you can't have two males of them either) I must say, I wouldn't put them together in a tank, I'd expect a fight.

Different people have different experience though.

Funny enough I found that the marble bettas are a lot more aggressive then the other ones I had.
