If you plumb the 2 canisters together it will increase the flow to maybe the full 800lts/hr but not more. That is because the pump + impeller doesn't go higher than that. Remember that if you put the canister on the ground and the pipes goes to the tank, water has to travel up against gravity. That is why you will never get what the canister was rated on.

    Hope that helps a bit.

I didn't plumb the two canisters together. ..I stayed witb my original setup...running each canister on it's own...I am sure this will opt for max flow, would you agree then I am running a flow of "1600" L/hr/or equivalent? Coz it's two canisters doing their own work...

Nope, hehe. Im guessing they each will be pushing out abt 400 to 500lt/hr. Your turnover rate will be about max 1000lt/hr.

I have a 5000lt/hr submersible pump in my sump, and with the head height of about 1.5m, the flow is reduced to about half of that. This is in my 4ft tank. Now you must also remember that the submersible pump has no media blocking the water flow, and even then it is reduced drastically.

You can test this, get a wave maker that is rated at about 800lt/hr and compare that flow to your outflow of your canisters.
