Morris, would you mind giving us some hints on photographing an aquarium. I think you did an amazing job. Obviously you removed all equipment. Camera on a tripod to compose the shot? You managed to get relatively motionless fish and good detail! Did you add extra lighting to achieve this? Gonna cry into my pretzels if you tell us you just pointed and shot

 

Well Done. Hope to one day to start approaching that type of tank. [Can always dream]. Love the action shot of the archers.

Congrtas to @JJFury and all the others that entered, really stunning tank and fish photos.

I do use a DSLR, Canon 550d on a tripod yes. Switch off the filter and take out the equipment so that the fish dont swim to much. I drop the lights to just above the surface to get as much light as possible, cause I use a fast shutter speed to get the fish dead still and with this you u loose alot of light. Also use a hairdryer for the ripple effect on the surface. Then you just wait for the fish to swim in the same direction.

What is the chance of you posting a "unposed" shot to see how the tank runs normally?
