battery back up

hey guys sorry for the dof question ,but im clueless with electric stuff.
was busy adding components to my home theatre last night ...
and disovered this battery back up.hidden away .ive been in the house less than a year and am allready forgeting stuff i saw when i moved in .
now the one I have for the arowana tank is also an alarm one but a ups type and has a normal plug out that i just modified. can i use this boy as there is nothing running from it as adt moved the whole system to my main bedroom the power light still works when i plug it in ? . the 12vdc 320a bit throws me of a bit .?
