Bargain

This morning while browsing in my LFS, I found a small pleco with the tag: "White Highfin Pleco (golden)" on the name card but it looked suspiciously like a Gold Nugget and at the price of R35. I snapped it up for a friend of mine who has been looking for a GNP for a long time. He confirmed that it was indeed a Gold Nugget and was quite happy at the price too. I believe they can sell for over R400.

Do fish stores often miss label stock? Has anyone else encountered similar experiences?

 

I have seen loads of mislabelled stock, but usually at a price higher than its worth.

 

lol,when i bought my 2 catfish sharks the black dude that worked there told me they were bala sharks.

 

i saw a hi-fin pangasius going for R160 but when i looked closer it waz a pangasius catfish...

 

Yes, it helps to know your fish!
I have bought 20x Cardinals for the price of neons @ R6-50 and Corydoras Juili as Pepper Cory's @ R 11-00. So, keep your eyes open!

id love to find the Corydoras Juili mislabelled as peppers and going for that price haha. though i had a troke of luck when i went to buy peppers and angels last wkend i asked for 1 pepper cory and went and paid for that one but when i got home i realised there was 2 peppers so i got 2 for the price of one lol. im debating with myself bout going through next wkend and doing the honest thing, maybe if i do they'll give me first option on any pandas they get in.
