Ola oakes I'm looking for a few Barclay Longifolias please. Whether it be bulbs or small developed, I would like to add more of these to my current tanks. It is just my favourite aquatic plant Please shout if you can help me out Cheers D
Hey dale! I'm assuming its the red one you are talking about? I'd also love some of that in my tank! Is it a hard plant to look after? Let me know if u get an abundance of available plants, and I'll have a couple! Cheers Big G!
Ola dude Yeah, it's the red one.....my favourite aquatic plant of all. Not really a hard plant to look after once it starts growing but getting it to grow sometimes can be frustrating. Will keep you posted on plants that I will get Cheers Dale
Dude still a hard plant even when growing, something like a water change can trigger it to go dormant and the mission starts over, also it needs high lighting, comprehensive fert supplements and i would recommend Co2 injection aswell otherwise it uses up the bulbs resources and will eventually did off completely... But ya i agree with Dale that it is one of the hottest plants there is (thats if you dont mind one plant taking all the glory in your tank)
One thing of this plant, as soon as it is starting to flower, I'd recommend to cut it off because the plant will most likely go into dormancy once flowered. That's what happened to my original one and the bulb is still in dormancy.....good couple of months. The other smallish bulb that I got from Hartlands Aquatics some time ago is still trying to grow. I am going to pull it out from the substrate in about a week if there's still no further development (considering I've added some CO2 to the tank a week or 2 ago) and prune the small leaves that developed on it but is showing signs of dying off. I still think this plant looked absolutely stunning in your tank Phil Chiao D
