So I spent a long weekend in Barcelona. Part work, part vacation.
And of course that had to include a trip to the Barcelona Aquarium.

    Well worth the visit.
The marines were brilliant. The display is focussed on the Mediterranean understandably, but there are also tank set ups from the rest of the world.
They had some Chambered Nautilus which were amazing to see.

The fresh water setups - not so good.
A nice range of fish, but most were in tanks much too small. There were some Red Devils in a Malawi style setup ie jam packed and totally overcrowded. And some Pacu in a tank where they could barely turn around.
But there were some nice other set ups, in particular one with some south Americans - various Dollars, BG Knife fish, Severums etc. And also a nice community setup with small Tetras and Discus attempting to breed

I will post photos as and when I get a chance.

    So here are some photos:

    Some recently hatched sand sharks.
Couldn't have been more than a few days old?
The "mermaids purses" were still in the tank

    And a few more

There were 3 pairs of Discus trying to breed in this tank
A lack of fry indicated they were not successful.

Tank was a bit narrow for them

An amazing group of Nimbochromis, with a few SA cichlids and a large Plec.

That Discus looks like it's on it's way out never mind not breeding - that fish is so hideous they should not be breeding with it !

    Thanks for the pictures @Reedfish

Those baby sharks are too cute and that Nautilus looks quite big!
    I like the reef tank...

The stingray does look Motoro but either its the position she is laying or she looks funny... not very fat?
The tanks look nice in the photos but obviously size is deceiving in the photo
