After watching a few YouTube videos.
I am going to attempt cultivating my own Banana and Micro Worms without the assistance of starter cultures.
I am not sure if anyone else has attempted this or has other methods that I can try.

    Banana worms.

Place Banana peals in a tub with room temperature water.
According to the video, one can start harvesting after about 6 days.
Then place worms into a Oats mix. Oats mixed with warm water and allow to cool to room temperature about 1cm deep in a container with air holes and filter fiber to prevent flies or unwanted insects to enter the tub.
    Add some Banana (optional)
    Sprinkle yeast over the top.

    Micro Worms

Take potatoes, cut them in half.
    Hollow out the potato.
Place in moist ground (about 10cm deep) with cut end facing down and skin of the potato facing up
Allow to cultivate for 1-2 weeks.
Then place worms into a Oats mix. Oats mixed with warm water and allow to cool to room temperature about 1cm deep in a container with air holes and filter fiber to prevent flies or unwanted insects to enter the tub.
    Sprinkle yeast over the top.

28/1/2022. ADDED TO OATS with 2 pinches of YEAST.
    Banana Worm culture.
Made the Oats mixture. About 1 cm Oats, mix with warm water to allow the Oats to absorb the water. Allowed to cool to room temperature before adding the Worms. Removed as many worms as I could. And added to the Oats.
Plenty life on the banana peals. Lid of the container has air holes and filter fiber to prevent unwanted insects from entering and laying eggs

Oats and yeast tends to smell. I always used “smash” for live cultures. Better on the nose. You can maybe try one batch and compare growth and reproduction? Just my 2c.

Going to try the banana worms I feed my koi fry micro worms, daphnia, koi food. And when the shrimps are getting overpopulated in the tank I feed some of them to the koi fry as well. Going to have to split the micro worm culture again this week. Keep the micro worm culture outside and everyone in the house is happy. The potato and oats micro worms have a sour smell when the temperature in the house goes up my culture is standing on the stoep keeps me out of trouble. I bay the oats at baking shops only place that has 5kg
    bags or more.
