bala shark behaviour

    Is this breeding behaviour between my bala sharks? or do juvenile males do they same too? I dont know the sex of these guys, but ive had then since november last year and i've never seen this before. they are completely oblivious to anything else going on around them and can go on for over 5 minutes at a time. then they suddenly stop and chase each other around before swimming off to opposite sides of the tank.

    They are WAY to small to start breeding. I suspect its an aggression thing.

    Forgot to add - they get around 35cm big and need to kept in a school of 5 or more.

    thanks, ja i thought they're probably too young as they're only 10cm at this stage, its amazing to watch....this afternoon they went on for almost 10minutes and then just stopped happily...they dont seem to stress each other out much....well, at least not yet.

    How many do you have in the tank? As i said minimum of 5 in a school.

    How big is your tank?
    As Henk says, the get quite big. And are also very active so need plenty of swimming space.
