Hi guys, last night i noticed that my shrimp tank started leeking. Not sure how it happened, but yes it did. Luckly for me i have a backup plan.

Will use my extra 20 liter tank.

The current filter in it will probably be over kill for shrimp but i will have to try and restrict it as much as i can.

But yes, then i will have to redo the tank or get someone to fix it for me...

If you know someone that will repare it on the east rand, plz drop me a comment below?

    Hi @Fishlips, sorry to hear.

When my 2.3m tank poped at the seams, i took it do Wazeer's in Boksburg.
They did brilliant job at a very reasonable price
We were so impressed that we have ordered the new tank for the stingrays from them again at an excellent price.

    @MariaS thanks.

Spoke to Mohammed earlier on, he said i must drain the tank first and do trouble shooting from there, which i will do tonight...

Luckly i got a backup tank infact, i got 2. Jut want to decide which one to use.

Can bring my outside tank in, which is a 120 liter tank, or use a small 20 liter tank. Just cant decide though

Would the shrimp not be ok in the 20l for a short while?

Setting up and moving a 20L is much easier than carrying a 3 foot tank around, especially if it is temporary.

An interesting calculator shows how many shrimp you can keep in a specific tank...

@MariaS yes i did end up putting them in the 20 liter.
Interisting thing is, we started with 7 shrimp and got 54 now.

Was a mission to get them all though. We decided to leave them in that tank now, and when the other tank is fixed to try a different shrimp, and to plant the tank.

Even my hornwort has grown a lot. The whole tank is covered in it. Wiss share a pic later on

@Fishlips, I am sure they will all be fine in that tank as it doesnt take very long to repair a small tank

I havent got any shrimp but am very tempted to get some, they are so cute..

    Haha, I know the feeling..
I decided to get 2 platie and a sword to keep my one small tank where I usually grow out any babies like my geos and the acaras.
Two days later I found myself with dozens of fry which I will need to find homes for as I cant put them with my cichlids...

    Cichlids will munch them. Shame...

Shrimp are cute and also very low maintanance.

But they are quit expensive for what they are actually

Just gana have to cycle the tank again, but thinking of removing the internal filter and cycling a sponge filter for it. Also thinking that would look good as a planted tank.

Maybe get a different shrimp type and ottos, and perhaps bristle nose plecos

If I remember correctly the only safe fish to use with shrimp are Ottos.
    I could be wrong however.
