    Hi
I've set up a 130 litre bare bottom tank with Amazon swords in pots and have Neons tetras in the tank atm.
I am looking for small discus to try as I have never kept them before .
Please contact me on 0794256081 if you breed or sell discus in Gauteng.
    Thanks

Research Discus thoroughly before attempting to keep them.
They are not as difficult as a lot of the hype, but they are more difficult than standard tropicals.

And make sure you get quality fish to start with.
It will make things so much easier.

@Marco or @fish_man ssometimes breed, not sure if either have any available at the moment.

I'm not going to start a discus argument so I'm not going to be specific. Ideally u want 5-6 discus min for pecking order bal. They will out grow that tank soon as a well cared for specimen can grow 2.5cm a month. Water needs to be very clean. High protein diet with sum roughage needs to be fed often with babies. That's about it. There are other factors but not going into that yet. I would suggest the following though get a pH test. Test directly from tap then fill small bucket and airate for 24h to check if ur pH is stable. Good luck they lovely fish to keep

I also want to get discus soon for the first time. One thing i would like to know is lets say i get a few discus now at around 5cm and then in a few months i get more discus also 5cm which will obviously be smaller than the current discus that i have had for a few months, will there be any fighting or bullying from the bigger discus to the smaller discus.

So before adding new water , I should test the ph and make sure it's the same before adding?

Not really test only to see if pH changes.if its stable it shouldn't just change so you can continue changing with out checking

It's best to not add any chemicals to your discus water, if you have soft water add some crushed coral, nothing else.
