A fishtank

OtherwiseI'd think you'll need stuff like a filter, heater (if going tropical), net, anti-chlorine, thermometer, fish food (important that it is suitable for fish being kept).

I think decorations such as gravel (or any substratum) and other decor like wood and rocks are important to help the fish feel more secure.

I'm guessing the question was, as a newbie, what equipment would one need to start off in the hobby?

The question was. As a newby what essensial things would you need for this hobby. I am not talking about the tank, filter exc. Things that you do not use every day but it must be part of the package in case of emergancy. How can I explane this.

Ah. Thats a good question. I asked it somewhere too.
A good start would be a quarintine tank if you got one, and apparently heal-all is a good emergency kit must have. Probably some Ich medicine, some de-chlor, a testing kit. What else?

you can't forget the buckets that you use only for the fish tank and fish nothing else should go into them at all...

what else..... I like to keep a few extras, like heaters and filters in case one decides to pack up on me.
Other than that a few meds like tetras genral aid and fungus stop and anti white spot o and a water Conditioner too. Then just a test kit and you should be set....... :blink1:

I make sure that I have spare heaters, filters and tubing on hand. We have a battery operated pump as well, just in case. Medications I make sure I always have, just in case something pops up at 11pm on a Sunday or something.....anti-ich, fungal medication, parasite medication, anti-stress and marine salt.
