If you can try get a better picture for me, I'll be able to identify the species for you so the sponsers know exactly what you need. At the moment, I can only guess.

However, you shouldn't have a problem with a mixed-species school. I've kept both T. jaculatrix and T. chatareus together with no problems. The only issue may be size, as you mentioned.

Thanks, those look most like T. chatareus, sometimes called the largescale Archerfish. They shouldn't be too hard to find.

Stormbringer now you've done it also............

How big a tank must they be in?
Must it be an enclosed tank?
Do they eat only live food?(What type of insects?)

    1) Bearing in mind they should be kept in groups, ideally a 5 foot brackish tank is needed, to house a group of 3 or so like-sized specimens.

    2) Keep the top covered - this is because they do jump for food, and their 'water projectiles' can cause problems with lights.

    3) They might start off with only live foods, but normally they'll adapt to flake and frozen pretty quickly. Still, try to feed insects as often as possible to mimic natural diet.

Dito.. Mine are outside on the stoep in a 1.5m with half the top covered , just enough to lure moths xmas beetles etc .there spit is havoc to clean on windows etc so make sure its only hiting areas you dont mind geting hammerd. Out of all of my fish my archers are prob my favorite and are actualy very easy to keep happy you will see there stripes tend to fade and anal fin darkens .near the end of the week then you no water change is due.awsome fish brialiant watching them hunt.go for it
