Wanted: Aquatic Plants

Hey guys so I know the LFS sell various aquatic plants but at a fair premium, I note that occasionally there are plant cutting and excessive plants given or even sold at a lower rate here on this forum. I am based in the Alrode Area for work and Observatory home would really like to buy some cost effective plants to try in my cichlid tank.

I have been told that anubias and java moss / fern will root to rocks which I think will make it a little more difficult for my Blood Red Parrots to move or pull up. I will try get the plants to first root to the rock or log before introducing to the main tank.

I am willing to buy but I think being a noob to spend top dollar on something I may not grow well is a difficult pill to swollow

Gerard try the real macaw, in South Kensington its near you
they have plants at R14 not a big selection fine for starting

Just watch out what cichlids are you talking about malawis might eat your plants

 

the way I see it I am trying to get another tank solely for a Paludarium / Aquascape so if the Malawis start eating at the plants I then move them out and do a dedicated planted tank

 

Hi guys, I live in the johannesburg area and looking for hardy plants , just started my tank and I'm looking at a moss plant.........the plants at pet stores and ridiculous price, I am willing to pay.

 

I have an few pieces off java fern you welcome to.

 

Can i also buy 2 pieces of the java fern plss
