    What tools do you use?

I have been looking for mayo like scissors for a while now. Yesterday I collected this form SAPO. Ruler was not included in the package

I am impressed with the quality - it is not as polished and rounded as the surgical instruments but perfect for the price - R60 - R100 each (list not landing cost) or something like that. Problem is - no more manufacturer - well let me put it this way no friscer.com and omnimates.com.

    Nice one Ferdie!

Through the years I have become quite adept at using chopsticks, partly my love of sushi and trips to the far East...lol
Find the make a pretty nifty low tech planting tool if you are deft enough...lol

I'm using Aluminium Braai tongs. One is fitted with shears and the other is modified for planting.

I recently got some tweezers, and i must, it makes planting hairgrass, hc, hm and glosso so much easier. Even the bigger plants is easier. Now im just trying to source the scissors.

So how do you aquascape if you do not know what you have or want?

I created a google keep page with a nice pic (thanks to google images) and notes of plants I have or had. It will sync the images and notes to your android phone and even allow you to take extra notes etc ....

    google keep.JPG

Nice thing the browser will sync to keep and keep to the device on wifi then I can use it offline in the LFS.

keep might evolve in the future to allow sharing and tagging, for now it is working just fine.

Yes evernote also does this but the minimum functionality in keep seems better.

See Google Keep - Android Apps on Google Play for your own.

PS the obvious goal is to replace the ggl images with my own as the plants grow.

Time for an update ... I got new forceps ... Maybe now I can plant that fine grasses.

Nothing wrong with the old kit, just I keep moving more things around than planting with the big flat tips.

I bought surgical scissors, tweezers, forceps and tongs from a nursing supply store.
All made from surgical grade stainless steel.
All in all everything cost me about R60.

Thanks for the idea...looked at the scaping tools at one of my lfs and the price was not "accomodating"
    Definitely a better option

@Hendre if you go that route just don't ever choose the ordinary small packet mail option. I learnt the hard way. Instead opt for registered air mail or Aliexpress standard shipping. Different sellers offer different shipping options for the same product, so compare. [IMG][IMG]
