aquarium plumbing

    can one use normal copper piping for aquariums or will it shed:blink1: some copper in 2 the water and harm the fish.... the led used to solder the joints wil that harm the fish aswel???

    No, copper is poisonous to fish. I've read somewhere that sometimes people use small amounts of copper to get rid of snails, but I'd rather use some loaches to do that instead of treading on border line of fish fatalies. Lead is very toxic for fish

    What exactly are you trying to do with the copper & lead?

    The copper will be eaten by the acidic water and thus leech into the tank. Just go for normal PVC pipe....

    pvc piping doesnt come in small diameters eg 15mm

    I once pluged holes in my under gravel filter with copper coins and I lost all my plecos. A hard lesson a long time ago.

    Pvc 15/20/25/etc.... electrical conduet?
    How about class 6 irrigation piping - 12bar?
    check out your local irrigation/elecrtical outlets. - mine do have stock!

    i use 25mm PVC for my big tanks return and 63mm for its drain :D
