That is not too bad ... looked at them in both displays and different types in BKK and our local price is actually OK ... nice for moss love.

Are they actual dead bonsai trees? What type of wood?

 

Hmm so one sees a few when you walk around .. but these types seem to be "created" from various bits - it really is actually a bit of art in itself - well worth trying to get to an LFS and pick it up have a look at the construction of it - so some material is natural and then some I saw was resin or putty like assembled as the main branches with the roots and twigs being natural.

Not being able to zoom in on the pics makes it hard to explain better. Starting at R600 is really not bad if this is your sort of thing.

Price wise.. actually not too bad especially if you look at the price of a nice piece of Mopani

These two I have are actual bonsai trees

One I can see the top has been fixed back into place other than that look like a tree

 

How long do the AF natural substrate and lava soil last ? Do they also turn to mud like the ADA aqua soil does after a while ?

Hi ,any feedback from supplier regarding life span of substrate ?

 

The lava soil substrate will out last you ... it is rock ;-)

Natural substrate is a mixture so it will break down - has a good amount of peat, clays and even some rocks it would seem. I suspect it is to new to have a real answer on how long it will last. That said it is meant to be capped. So unlike ada capping might add some protection.

But the guys that have bought it are very impressed with the quality and results
