    Hi.
Would it be ok to have a pair of Apistos in a community tank together with Corys? I am thinking of changing my tanks around and I don't mind removing other fish from the tank, but not my Corys. They just seem to be doing so well. They spawn quite regularly (over the last 8 days, that have spawned twice), so I am not really keen on getting rid of them.
    And ideas?
    TIA

Yep. They should be cool. Cory's are very good community fish, and the apisto should leave the Cory's alone.

    Hi Darryn,

I would be cautious having Apistos and Corys together mainly because Corys are just so active! They are continuously on the move, and Apistos can get a bit Grumpy with too much activity around them, particularly if you go into breeding the Apistos.

So, it really depends on how active your Corys are (the ones I have from you haven't stopped swimming round and round and up and down! Haha!) and what other fish you have in the tank, and how many nooks and Cranneys? It will help if you have some densely planted parts of the tank where its much quieter, where the apistos can go and escape from 'City Life' so to speak!! Haha!

Anyhow, must go get the oldest to school!

    Cheers
    BigG!

I have apistos in a tank with 13 corys and they are perfectly happy together... The Apistos will chase the corys away sometimes, but in they can't hurt an armored catfish. They make great community fish!!

I figure the most important factor would be the tank size?? I guess it wouldn't matter what kind of fish you place together if the tank is too small to hold all comfortably??

As I said earlier, just make sure there are plenty of hiding holes!

    Cheers

Thanks for the all the advice. It will most probably be in a 3 foot tank.
