Such awesome fish... I wish I still had mine.

They are Apistos, so they require soft water. They are not too demanding, but their water should be clean. Weekly water changes are a must. They would prefer to be in a planted environment, and they should also be given lots of hiding places. Some pet shops stock halved coconut shells, and they love these. Cover them with some moss to make it more natural looking. They also like Dither fish to be in their tank. So some small, unoffensive tetras, or something similar will do the trick. It makes them more comfortable.

Feeding is easy. Bloodworms, Enriched brine shrimp and good quality flake food is usually greedily accepted.

I did not get them to breed, but then I never wanted to breed them. They are stunning fish.

Good luck trying to get some. @Altum arranged the import of them, and I had about 10 of them myself. They were awesome fish. I loved them. Perhaps Altum can get some more for us?
