    My apisto agassizi have eggs!!! so exciting - their first spawning. (and I've only owned them for 4 nights!)

    they must be competing with the a. borellis breeding with fry in the tank on the desk next to them. :) :)

    @Pauline... are the fish still "expensive" considering the rewards you are getting?

    of course they are worth it, this is the reason we all have MTS - but they are expensive.

    never doubt that fish are always worth it. I scuba dive every weekend (often 4 times a weekend); and I do not even eat seafood at all. I love fish. And I would spend the same expensive amount on them again. :)

    Thanks to every for the congrats.

    I'm waiting impatiently for the fry to hatch .... :) :)

    Daphnia culture is up and running and going very well.

    I'm sure you have the fire red ,yellowish bodies with brilliant candy red colour fins I think I saw the pics in a previous post of yours when you were ordering, they were pretty expensive no matter how you look at it but being human we want what we want! And if I had the tank space I would have bought some myself, now that you got them breeding they will pay for themselves :) also because not many have them they will be a hot commodity,I'm sure u getting sale equiries already, how many fry do you have ,my aggies only seem to produce around 20 @ a time the fry are tiny I usually start mine on microworm then progress brines altho the prof goes brines straight from the free swimming stage but he has brine hatching 24/7.

    Hi, @firemanmuzz - yes they are the fire red :) - sorry blond moment when i read your post earlier ... could not figure it out ... LOL

    The eggs haven't hatched yet - although there a quite a few eggs. The borelli's hatched about 18 or 20 fry.
    I won't be doing that bs route (brine shrimp ;) just in case anyone reads that any different :) )

    Some crushed flake, new born daphnia; and liquifry.

    I have my hopes up that if they breed succesfull the first time - that there will be many more in future :) and this lot have good genes, thanks to @Altum's German import.

    pretty exciting :)

    Hey,
    You forgot to mention their maroon to Beet Red Subdorsal flash!
    I think it offsets the creamy white-gold, metallic and the vibrant Red fins very well. :laugh:

    @Pauline
    I TOLD you I sent the genes to PE for a round trip to Cape Town:rock:
