I am able to get Apistogramma Trifasciata pairs. Anyone in the Joburg area interested? PM me for pricing info, they are R150 per pair before Postage and Packaging, but they are good looking little guys...

Also, Dolphin is able to source other species of apistos, but there is not enough people interested for him to warrant placing a good size order. If you are interested in Apisto species, then please get hold of him on this forum, so we can get some of the rarer species...

I wouldn't mind taking them but do not know too much about them. What kind of tanks mates to they make and take?

They are shy fish and they like the more docile tank mates. I wouldn't recommend them for tanks with boisterous fish like Loaches or Big aggressive cichlids. They do well on their own or with tetras and cories.

They require soft water to survive, so if your water is hard and alkaline, you would first need to treat the water with some kind of softening agent, like Peat, for example, or use RO water.

They make beautiful specimens and if kept happy, the breed regularly.

They are South American Dwarfs. They are shy and like soft water. I am bringing 8 pairs of Trifasciata from Cape Town this week. 4 pairs will be available to Joburg folk. PM me before tomorrow afternoon if you want to place an order.

I wouldn't put them with Clown Loaches or other boisterous fish. But your water needs to be absolutely spot on with regards to PH and GH and KH... You cannot be too lax with water quality maintenance.

They are not for beginners, but they are beautiful fish...

Yes... These are beauties. I am actually getting 10 pairs, so there will be 5 pairs available to JHB people. Let me know.
