Good afternoon abou twoo weeks ago i bought allot of anubias and java fern and they look really bad some of the leaves are turning brown and then it looks like they melting or rotting away most of the java ferns are on driftwood and the rest are on rock also the anubias are on rock. I have washed the rocks then did a vinegar test on them and then washed them again i did receive some flourish from someone else and are dousing 2x per week but still dont know what's going on. I have never had anubias or java ferns before so im way out of my league here

There is also a plant disease specific to anubias - anubias rot - which is apparently a bummer to get rid of. Google it.

I tried dosing the tank with ferts and CO2 (liquid) and it didn't seem to make a difference.

Judging by how firm / stiff the leaves can be. I suspect that in nature, Anubius is only partially aquatic, and this may be part of the problem - growing them as permanently submerged.

You could be right.. for me it was my Malawi's nibbling and spitting... The exact stems were added to the planted tank and shrimp one and they've taken off.. I'll add some pics here shortly

These were both only a stem when added to these tanks

@ooxREAPERxoo cut away any melting/ dodgy leaves to encourage new growth.

Are the rhizomes healthy or melting? This is NB

It could be that the plants you bought were grown emersed and are transitioning? With anubias this may take patience as they are slow growing. I find in a tank with livestock they respond very well to Seachem Flourish ADVANCE (trace elements and phytohormones that stimulate new growth).

Also, they are shade plants so give them cover eg with floating plants

The rhizomes looks healthy. Ill get flourish potassium this weekend and do a rescape adjust the flow to make it better and add fine filter wool inside my internal filters

Could it be a temperature change? My anubias are in a tank outside (covered area) with wcmm's. And doing really well with no heaters at all. What's your water temperature?
