Another surprise spawn

Ok, now I'm a bit worried

I just noticed that my Bettas have also spawned...have a few free-swimming fry already and the rest of the clutch is still in the nest. The cross is CrownTail male + DoubleTail female....would be interesting to see what the fry outcome will be.

I now removed the female but left the male in there to tend to the nest. Will remove him once most of the fry is free-swimming.

PS - The male that's in there is my best spawning male...usually spawns after 3-4 days of being in the tank and he is not an egg/fry eater; very good male he is

Will only take pics next week sometime when my stoooopid camera can actually pick up the fry. lol. Now let's see if Eskom doesn't kill this batch (or my other Golden Gourami batch)

This breeding-by-accident is actually quite effective LOL

must be the rise in the temp outside thats triggering the spawns....

 

Well I'll be trying to spawn some of my tetras in next week so hopefully I'll be able to get that right.
