Another one :-)

Hello Guys ,

Been away for a while ,

My New tank arrived in December last year and sat for a full 2.5 months collecting dust.

I eventually got the stand and cupboard made up and then last week got some people to set up the system ,

Here are the Specs , 1200 x 500 x 600 , 10mm glass black silicone with built in overflow box and 4 camber 3 foot sump

Planning on using java fern and Anubis only in this tank , drift wood and Namibian white dessert sand , as I am planning on stocking with a lot of corrys

I still have my old sponge filters and 2 internal filters that are running with the old tanks water , Question is , how long do I need to cycle this tank , with seeded media ?

That tank looks lovely and so does that stand. With "seeded media" being sponge and powerheads I'm sure it will take a little longer if opposed to using ceramic rings or pumice stone or lava rock as the surface area for beneficial bacteria is far more extensive. I'd say fill up your tank, dechlorinate your water and then add the filters and test every day or every second day for a week. Should be fine.

Thank you , I will monitor the readings daily and then decide to add fish in slowly but surely , .

Yeah I'm sure if you have hardy fish you can add in a few after a few hours and as long as you don't show ammonia and nitrites you can add again a few more

 

Currently 4 filters are running with fish in a storage container .

Hello Everyone , so I got bored with the scape and thought it looked very unnatural .I then went and changed things around ant the below is what I came up with for fun.



I then sat with this for a few hours and then '' Eureka '' , I decided to go with the below scape as i wanted a bridge effect

Time to add plants
