And just when I thought all was well fish are starting to die off one after the other.
Only change I made... Bought Rasbora's from a LPS. Since then none but two Rasbora's made it.
Most of my white clouds passed think there are two left.
    One Otto passed this morning.
Had the rasboras in quarantine for 24 hours where two died.
Most of them looked as though something ate their tails.
The other fish are fine. The Corry's are doing their thing.
The two red tail sharks are swimming, the Khuli is chilling and the neons are fine.
Did a 50 liter water change before work this morning. Added salt to the watermix to see if that will help.
Did a no2 test last night. 0.0mg and the Ammonia monitor is at 0 as well. Rinsed the filter on Sunday.
    In tank water.

I see that this is going to become a 100% planted tank for me. Worst feeling is that somehow I am killing my fish and I have no clue what I am doing wrong, and that for me is the worst.

Any advice from long time keepers on what I am doing wrong?

Meds and stuff added to tank:
Prime in the water to tale out the chlorine
Stability as recommended after a water change
    Added salt (30g)
And Another product (yellow and high in Vit B) added 8 ml
    Nothing else added.
Running an air pump, but not the problem. Been running it for 72 hours now.
    CO2 is off as well.
pH is bit high at 8.0 and water temp is 25

Eish man. That's never nice. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with what you are doing other than that we need to quarantine for 2-3 weeks. I have only been keeping my fish in quarantine for a week but I just started a thread yesterday on another forum and the above was recommended. Unfortunately Rasboras are a bit of a luck of the draw. I've bought in the past and lost 3/4 of what I bought before they have made it out of qt!

    @fhmarais,

Red Tail Sharks can get aggressive.
Are you sure they aren't attacking the smaller fish?

Put it down to the same issues I have. These fish arrived stressed and are apparently dsoed with all kinds of vitamins and drugs for shipping. Being transferred to a new environent again, now without those supplements, is the final straw and they keel over and in the process others are affected too. I assume the Rasbora's are bred in captivity, if not, they may be cyanide poisend during capture, - which is a problem with Otto's.

Your PH is high though, remember that ammonium, becomes very toxic ammonia at a ph above neutral. Are you sure your ammonia test is conclusive? I would put the CO2 back on to bring the ph down slowly. Im sure you know, but salt is not good for your corydoras.

    Thank everyone
Jim know it is not good for them. But it was a desperate move.
Co2 will go on. I just need to swap the co2 last night as I realized that I have a CO2 bottle that seems to be leaking.
Will check what I can do tonight.
Need a ammonia test. Testing NO2 seems to be a bit off.
Nitrites and nitrates were at 0.

Might be worth trying a general tonic or Rooibos tea

Do you have a drop checker in your tank? Where is the leak? Is it possible you gassed your fish? I lost 30 Cardinals when my daughter fiddled with my co2...

    Kh is at 6

That is the one I could not get. Is a general tonic I dosed this morning.

Hey man sorry to hear this, I have/am going through the same as you, My tanks has been running for 4 weeks now, I feel your pain. You must just hang in there like I am doing now. It just has to come right at some stage. I so much want to replace some of my fish but HAVE To bite the bullet and just wait it out. I have spent big bucks on Chemicals to try and turn it around, but nothing beats time for it to settle in. I also tried to rush it but as they say you have to learn by your mistakes. So far I have been very lucky as none of my Guppy Fry have died yet. I have 108 Fry in my tank from 4x mothers ranging from 4 days to 3 weeks old. I am the most P!SSED about losing my Peacock Eel and two Betta's. I just hope I can get another Peacock Eel like the one I had when my tank is running fine.

Think it just comes down to luck.
I can't seem to keep white clouds alive in any case
Will give it another month and see if I can get some new inmates for my tank

    This is a bubble counter.
Do you have a co2 indicator (little gizmo that changes from blue to green)?

I wonder if the heatwaves being experienced are not contributing as water temp is definitely going quite high. I decided to do the rooibos in all my tanks yesterday and planning on wc tomorrow - I cannot believe how it has brought out the colours in my fish - can't take my eyes off them this morning they are all looking so gorgeous (ok I only have White Clouds, guppies, endlers, platties and bettas - but still!!)

Jip is at dark green so CO2 is very low.

Saw te heater came on this morning. Tank should be at 22 degrees but the heat might have pushed it up to 24 or 25. Make sense then because the others died just before I left for Moz (13th December) lost 6 white clouds in one day

Do you have more than one thermometer in the tank? Use 2 to double check your temps. Heaters are innacurate and often a degree or two more than the dial indicates.

@fhmarais I know you have said your CO 2 is low and this might sound like a silly question but do you run your CO2 at night? Why I ask is because there was a guy having a similar problem about 6 months back and it came down to him running his CO 2 through the night when the plants could not process the stuff due obviously to the lack of light.

Might have been trickling by night as the knob on the CO2 (bought from Pet Stop) needs to be over tightened to be closed.
Funny thing is the problem started in the afternoon with Co2 tricking out. Al 0.2 bps.

Ran a oxy pump at night. Can't forget that plants use O2 at night. Almost the only thing I remember from biology
